Lachie Paterson

Lachlan Paterson was a professional fisherman for 30 years operating from the south coast of Ireland to the North east coast of Scotland.

He skippered prawn/whitefish trawlers and also pair trawled for herring. In the early 1990s he was also involved in the processing industry.

It is this hard won experience that makes him an excellent instructor. He understands fishermen's requirements and the reality of the business but also appreciates the real need for safety and training in what can be a dangerous profession.

Joining FITA in 2002 Lachie has built on the firm foundations of his predecessors and personally delivers many of the courses FITA offers throughout the length and breadth of the Highland region.
